Chat & Profile Data: When you use the chat feature, we collect and store the following in our database (Supabase):
Note: Chat messages are public to all users of the Nebula network. Do not share private or sensitive information in the chat.
Personal Information via Forms: When you submit contact forms, bug reports, or suggestions, you may provide your name and email. This data is handled by third-party services (Formspree and Supabase).
Local Data: We use localStorage to store your profile settings (nebula_profile) and site preferences (favorites, view counts). This stays on your device and is used to identify you when you post messages.
We use your data to facilitate the live chat experience, display your identity alongside your messages, respond to your inquiries, and improve site features. Your profile information is used to "autofill" your identity in the chat interface.
We do not sell your personal data. However, your chat messages and profile display name are shared publicly with other visitors to the site. We use the following third-party processors:
You can clear your localStorage at any time through your browser settings to remove your profile from your device. Since chat messages are stored persistently in our database, if you wish to have a specific message deleted, please contact us via the Contact page.
We take reasonable measures to protect your data. However, because chat messages are designed to be viewed by other users, the "Security" of chat content is limited to its public visibility. Please use the network responsibly.
Chat messages are retained indefinitely to provide a continuous conversation history for the community. We may periodically clear older messages to maintain system performance.
